In the Spring of 2023, my Introduction to Illustration course presented me with my first project: creating an informative pamphlet for a zoo, specifically using the Houston Zoo as our location. One of the project's requirements was to employ the “Pattern Tool” in Illustrator to design the pamphlet's back. I chose the Shoebill Stork, a species known for its prehistoric appearance, as the focus of my pamphlet. My design included detailed information about the Shoebill Stork's habitat, diet, and lifespan, which involved extensive research to ensure accuracy and educational value. This project not only honed my skills in using advanced design tools but also deepened my understanding of effective informational layout for public engagement.
